Finished...but...

I am soooo bummed!! I finished my pink Yarn Girls Guide to Kids Knits striped sweater, but it's too big for my friend's baby!!! Arrgh! The baby is due any day now, and I have to start over. I am going to work day and night to get it finished before the weekend. Not to mention the blanket that I have to finish....so little to do and so much time....strike that, reverse it...

Hubby brought up an interesting point. The sweater and blanket, made up in Peter Pan Wendy yarn, is made of 100% nylon. Easy to care for, but flammable!!! Ugh - I never thought of that. Not just flammable, but it would melt! What a great gift to give to a baby! From now on, will just knit in cotton and non-flammable yarns...is there even such a thing?

I'm A Knitting Guru

What Kind of Knitter Are You?

You appear to be a Knitting Guru. You love knitting and do it all the time. While finishing a piece is the plan, you still love the process, and can't imagine a day going by without giving some time to your yarn. Packing for vacation involves leaving ample space for the stash and supplies. It can be hard to tell where the yarn ends and you begin.http://marniemaclean.com

Never knit for myself...

I just realized the other night, while at my LYS, that I never knit for myself. I spend all of my knitting time on other people. Babies, parents, friends - I give it all away! I end up growing very attached to the items I make! I just wish I had the oppourtunity to knit for myself.

It's not like I don't have the yarn or the patterns to knit for myself. I have a ton of projects waiting in line (see UFO list on the right) but another project always seems to take precedence.

I have a sweater that is almost done for myself that I have been trying to finish for two years, yarn for two more sweaters, and patterns up the wazoo!

I finished a baby blanket and a baby sweater for a shower this weekend. I wanted to make a hat and booties too but I ran out of time. Maybe I can make it and send it out when the baby is born! Well, I guess I will just add that to the list of projects I will make for someone else....
